Jeffrey Pelkey joined Rotary In 1993 as a member of the South Berwick Rotary Club.  He transferred to the Rotary Club of Kittery in 2002 where he is currently a member.  Jeff was president of the South Berwick Club in 1997-98 and president of the Rotary Club of Kittery in 2004-05 and again in 2005-06.  He served as program chair for the 2007 Rotary District Conference and as the program chair again for the 2008 Rotary District Conference.  He was an Assistant District Governor for 2007-2008.

Jeffrey was recognized by his hometown and the Maine Senate and House of Representatives as the 1994 Citizen of the Year in Eliot and has served in many capacities in his community as well as the board of directors in a number of organizations including the Greater York’s Region Chamber of Commerce and the American Red Cross.

Jeffrey is a graduate of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and Mt. Ida College, studying funeral service at New England Institute and is certified by the International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards and licensed by the State of Maine. 

A twenty year law enforcement veteran, Jeffrey has also served as a Youth Development Specialist, currently he and his wife, Julia, along with an outstanding staff, own and operate the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home in Kittery, ME serving the Seacoast of Maine, New Hampshire and beyond.  He is also a firefighter/engineer with the Kittery Fire Department.  They live in Eliot with their son, Justin.  Jeff and Julia are both Paul Harris Fellows.
