Hong Kong Group Study Exchange

We are seeking four qualified non-Rotarian team members and one Rotarian team leader for this exciting international vocational exchange, which will focus on the health care field, an extremely timely theme, given the current national debate in our country.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a young, health-care professional between the ages of 25 and 40 to travel to Hong Kong under the auspices of Rotary International, learn about the people and culture of this vibrant city, and experience first hand how health care is practiced by his or her counterparts in Hong Kong.

All expenses related to the exchange, including travel to and from Hong Kong, and accommodations, travel and meals during the exchange in Hong Kong are paid for by The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, Rotary District 7780 and the local Rotary Clubs in the hosting District. Group Study Exchange Team members stay with Rotarian host families during the exchange, which offers participants the opportunity to form lasting personal and professional relationships.

The exchange lasts approximately one month and the estimated dates for the GSE Team from this District to go to Hong Kong are February 25, 2011 through March 26, 2011. On April 18, 2011, a GSE Team from Hong Kong will be visiting our District for four weeks.

Eligible team member candidates must be between the ages of 25 and 40, cannot be Rotarians or related to Rotarians, and must work in the health care field. Applicants must be "sponsored" by a local Rotary Club within Rotary District 7780. Any eligible person interested in participating as a GSE Team Member must submit a Team Member Application through a local Rotary Club as soon as possible. Any Rotarian interested in serving as a GSE Team Leader for the Hong Kong exchange must submit a Team Leader Application.

Applications are reviewed by the District Selection Committee which makes the final selections. The deadline for team member and team leader applications is September 1, 2010.
