Emma Bodwell has been a member of the Bridgton Lake Region Rotary Club since 1998.  Although she initially joined to meet people in her community, she has stayed because she loves everything about Rotary!!  She has served as President twice (2004-2005, 2013-2014).  Emma is currently serving her second consecutive term as District 7780’s DISC (District International Service Committee Chair).  During her tenure, her amazing committee has helped facilitate multiple outreach teams to Kenya, Romania, Colombia, Indigenous Population reservations, and Zambia.  The DISC has also championed the “International Café”, a zoom meeting every 6 weeks throughout the year to highlight international projects by the clubs.    She is extremely passionate about being involved in the international side of Rotary, traveling to the Dominican Republic several times with the local Interact students to engage in projects, visiting 2 project fairs in Colombia and promoting all things international within her district. 
 
Emma’s daughter Zoe was an Interact student at Fryeburg Academy, attended RYLA, served as a RYLA counselor for several years, and traveled to the Dominican Republic with the team in 2015.    
 
Emma is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, has completed the RLI’s program I, II & III, and will be taking the graduate session in the very near future.  She has been involved with various committees over the years, and is honored to be District 7780’s District Governor for 2025-2026. 
 
Emma is a successful Branch Manager/Mortgage Broker for 30 years, with licenses in 7 states along the east coast.  She lives in Waterford, Maine with her husband Peter and daughter Zoe.  When she is not working she loves to travel, read, and garden.
