Richard E. Clark, District Governor 1993-1994


Dick is a native of New Hampshire.  He was born in Rochester where he grew up and received his primary and secondary education.  Following military service in the Navy as a Radar man on a destroyer during the Korean conflict, he entered McIntosh Business College and received a degree in Executive Accounting.

 

 

Dick began his professional career in automotive accounting, but later entered the field of hospital administration at the Wentworth-Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH, where for 18 years he was comptroller and later assistant administrator of fiscal services.  In 1978 he became the chief executive officer of the Waterville Osteopathic Hospital in Waterville, ME, apposition he held until 1984 when he returned to Dover, NH, to open his own public accounting practice which he still operates.

 

HE is a past member of the American Academy of Medical Administrators and past Board of Trustee of the American Osteopathic Hospital Association.  He is a member of the National Association of Tax Practitioners, and served as Pre3sident of the New Hampshire Association of Public Accountants for 1992-93.

 

Dick first joined the Dover Rotary Club in 1974.  He has the unique distinction of serving as president of two Rotary Clubs; the Rotary Club of Waterville, ME 1983-84, and the Rotary Club of Dover, NH, 1991-92.  He has served as the District 779 Conference Chairman in 1981, was District 779 Polio-Plus Chairman of US clubs 1985-1988, and was chairman of the first District 778 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program in 1992.  Received Rotary Foundation District Service Award in 1990.  Dick served as District Governor Area Representative for 1992-93.  He is a Paul Harris Fellow.

 

Dick is the charter secretary and is a past member of the Dover Jaycees.  He was chairman of the campaign and Past President of the Dover United Appeal.  He has also served as a trustee and Chairman of the Board for the Great Bay School and Training Center in Newington, NH>

 

June has pursued a career in bookkeeping and accounting, and presently operates a bookkeeping service for small businesses.  She was chair of the spouses program for the 1981 District Conference.

 

Dick and Jane live in Dover, NH.  They have a daughter and son, and four grandchildren.
