Philip Stultz was a 1931 Graduate of Westbrook High School. He served in the Army in Europe during World War II and received the Purple Heart. Upon his discharge, he and his brother Paul joined their father in the Stultz Electric Works. Over the years, the company developed a specialty of rebuilding electric motors. Mr. Stultz retired in 1978 as treasurer of the firm.
 
During his working years, he was deeply involved in community activities in Westbrook, particularly economic development. Mr. Stultz was instrumental in forming a Chamber of Commerce in Westbrook and served on the board of directors after it merged with the Greater Portland Chamber of Commerce. He also was active in the Greater Portland Development Council and was for many years a director of the former Osteopathic Hospital. He served on the board of directors of the Northeast Bank in Westbrook and for several months was interim president.
 
Phil was interested in foreign exchange programs. The family often had exchange students stay with them for the summer.  He was a past president of the Westbrook Rotary Club where he maintained a record of perfect attendance. He served District 779 as District Governor in 1958-1959.  He served on the Nominating Committee and other committees in District 7780.
 
During his working years he lived in Windham. He later moved to Falmouth and wintered in Montserrat where he helped establish a Rotary Club.
 
He died in his sleep on March 22, 1996 at his winter home in Montserrat.
