Last month I asked the clubs to share how they are working around COVID – any changes they have made. I got one reply from Kathi Perkins from the Rotary
Club of Westbrook-Gorham – THANK YOU, Kathi!
Kathi shared the following about her club:
Club of Westbrook-Gorham – THANK YOU, Kathi!
Kathi shared the following about her club:
1. We had speakers from Brazil, Vermont and Rhode Island. (Historian’s
note: this can easily be done now with Zoom Meetings – no travel time or
expense for the speakers.)
2. We were required to change from an after-golf tournament barbecue
buffet to before tee-off box lunch. We have decided to continue that in
the future.
3. We had 4 meetings in parks when it was warmer. We may continue
that occasionally even after we can meet as we used to.
4. Invited older members to share their favorite places at meetings. We
saw pictures and heard stories from folks who do not always share of
themselves.

These are all wonderful ideas, thank you for sharing!
Please send the changes your club has made because of COVID, along with your
name and your club’s name to mawilliamspdg@comcast.net . It will be added to
District 7780’s History pages. You will become part of District 7780’s History
that will live on and may help other clubs now and in future situations!
Everyone, stay safe!
